Jackson is turning 4!!

Well....I feel like crying. My baby boy is turning 4!! Saturday we had his birthday party with family and friends. The theme was Little Einsteins and he had so much fun. I am so grateful for family and friends making it a special birthday for him. I just cant believe he is already 4 (well tomorrow) It seems like yesterday he was born. People arent kidding when they say time flies. Tomorrow we are going to lunch with Jeff and then dinner with family. Gotta spoil my boy. Well I know this is short, but I have to pick the kids up from school. Will post some more soon!

Man...it is cold!

Well, we have had some terribly cold weather lately and that is making us a little stir crazy in the Clupny house. We finally got out on Saturday to take the kids to the Fayetteville mall and out to dinner. Jeff and I are losing weight for contests at work (and to get healthy) and so far we are doing really well. Hopefully we will be much lighter before summer. The kids are doing well. Jackson is getting a little too old for his britches and Brooklyn is miss independent. Jonah is doing really well, although he doesnt like to be away from Mommy and doesnt want a bottle. I am a little worried about when I go back to work. The kids started back to school today and I have gotten a lot done around the house. Well, need to get a few more things done before I feed Jonah and we go get Jackson and Brooklyn!

Happy 2010!

Well,
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and I am wishing you all a great New Year. Our New Year's Eve didnt go as planned. I had to take Brooklyn to the doctor. She had a 104 temp and turns out it was strep. So we pretty much dealt with a poor whiney toddler (who could blame her though). I am hoping that we have a healthier 2010. I cant believe Jonah is two months old already. I have to go back to work in only 16 days (boo hoo). Now I am just focusing on being with the kids and getting ready for Jackson's birthday party. He is almost 4!! Where did the time go? Well, the kiddos want to play and Jonah is in my arms.....making it hard to type. Hope everyone again has a wonderful 2010!!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve we had a nice dinner together and then let the kids open one present. They loved them and didnt want to go to bed....but hey Santa was coming! Christmas morning I made some bubble bread and we opened presents. I loved seeing the kids so excited! It is the best present ever! Afterwards we got everything cleaned up and got ready to go to Jeff's parents. We snacked all day and opened presents. It was nice. Then we adults played Outburst and some other games. We got home around 10pm and the kiddos crashed...parents included! We went back over the next day to enjoy lunch with Jeff's sister and her hubby and kids. It was great to see them. Now it is the time of getting back into normal mode. I got all the decor put away except for the tree. That goes down this weekend. I cant believe 2010 will be here Friday. Where did the time go? Not to mention I have to go back to work January 20th. Definitely not ready for that. I mean I am ready to see my friends....just want to bring the kids with me. I dont think the hospital will be up for that though. Well, Jonah is fussing and I need to tend to my little angel. Will post more soon!

Eureka!

Well, Jonah's barium swallow was normal. He had a little nasopharyngeal reflux, but no aspiration! And as of yesterday I think we have figured out why he his having so much reflux and tummy troubles. He has oversupply colic (aka overactive letdown syndrome). In other words, I am making too much milk. It causes him to gulp in a lot of air trying to keep up with the flow and in turn causes a lot of gas. The good thing is it usually resolves by 12 weeks or I can try different feeding techniques to reduce production and flow. (i am sure everyone loves hearing about my breastfeeding ordeals-hehehehe) Anyhoo, the good thing is it is fixable!! I just talked to his pediatrician and he is referring us to an ENT doctor just to make sure and to check out his nasal passages. So we will see how that goes!! Yesterday wasnt the best. Brooklyn threw up twice so I am keeping a close eye on her! She kinda woke up a little less than perky. I am suppose to make dinner for a friend, but we might be cancelling that for another day! Depends on how she acts. Plus, I just dont have any energy today. Dont know why! I think I will need a nap today! Well, need to get some stuff done and feed Jonah!

Update on Jonah

Well...my poor little guy has had a rough start. He is such a happy baby (most of the time) but after he eats is another story. You can tell his reflux is really hurting his tummy and his is spitting up more and more. We started zantac and reglan, but it just doesnt seem to be helping. Today we are going in for a modified barium swallow study to make sure he isnt aspirating his food. I really hope he isnt. If he is, then I will have to pump every feeding and thicken it. But I will do whatever to make him happy. He is definitely growing like a weed though. He is almost (if not by now) 10 pounds and wearing 3-6 month clothes. He just turned a month on the 6th!! Jackson and Brooklyn are getting so big too. I cant believe Jackson is almost 4. He is so excited about his birthday party. That, and Santa, are all he talks about. He is such a big helper too. He gets things for me when I am feeding Jonah and cant get up and helps me with Brooklyn. He is so sweet. Last night Jeff asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up and Jackson said a hugger because he wants to make people feel better when they are sad. How cute is that? Brooklyn is getting a little sassier, but she doesnt forget to say I love you mommy every day! Well, need to finish up a few things before we go to the doctor. I will update ASAP!

Has it almost been a month?

Well I know I havent updated as often as I would like, but it has been one crazy month. It was interesting trying to get back to normal with three kids and then in the first week Jonah got thrush which made feeding him very uncomfortable. So we were on every medicine (it seemed) under the sun and I even got put on a no carbs, no sugar, no dairy diet (aka no fun) I am still on that diet...although I am a little more lenient now that the thrush is gone. On that for another week. Also Jonah has reflux so he cant lie flat and has some spitting up and tummy issues. So he is on zantac for that and we are waiting to hear from the doctor about what more we might try. Poor guy can get pretty miserable. Through it all he really is such a good baby. He only gets up once a night and he doesnt even cry then. He just kinda grunts and makes noises letting me know he wants to eat. But trust me he can still cry every once in awhile. Thanksgiving was great. We had a great time with family and it was so nice to just relax! I am now looking forward to Christmas. Jackson and Brooklyn are looking forward to it so much this year. They are really into it. They talk about talking to Santa, about reindeer, and when they see something on tv or in a magazine they are all about "I want that for Christmas.....please...if I am good?" It is too cute. Well..now that I am getting the hang of this mom to three thing, I will update more with more funny kid moments and pics of course! Happy Holidays!
